Biodegradable

Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter™ is made from 100% Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA). It is biodegradable, with low toxicity and very safe on the environment. Acetate biodegrades down to carbon dioxide water. Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter ™ has a typical pH of 8-10 in a 10% solution.

Non-Corrosive

The icemelter is chloride free and completely non-corrosive. For this reason, it is a great product to be used around areas containing steel or metal. It is commonly used on concrete roads and bridge decks for this reason. In fact, CMA is added to icemelters to act as a corrosion inhibitor.

Safe on Concrete

The product is safe on concrete. It does not chemically harm or alter concrete like other de-icers on the market, and it does not cause any concrete spalling.

Performs to -12°C (10°F)

Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter ™ performs equally as well as salt products, but is much safer. It requires fewer applications than other icemelters.

Chloride / Nitrogen Free

The icemelter is completely chloride and nitrogen free, meaning that it is completely safe. De-icers, like urea, contain nitrogen, which breaks down to ammonia and is quite toxic to aquatic life even at low levels.

Easy to Apply

The product is easy to apply. It can be applied in its solid pellet form or can be made into a liquid. In pellet format, Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter ™ should be applied at a rate of 15-20 lb per 1,000 square feet (75-100 g/m²). It can also be mixed with salt and sand. To convert the product into a liquid format, simply dilute 25% product into 75% water. Liquid CMA is often used as an anti-icing agent.

Green Building Compliant

Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter ™ is completely chloride free, making it compliant for Green Buildings / Properties. While it does meet those strict standards, Winter Warrior Enviro LEADer Icemelter ™ is a less expensive alternative that also meets the same standards.
